George Bush Intercontinental Airport Houston (IATA: IAH, ICAO: KIAH) is 23 miles north of downtown Houston, Texas. It is located between Interstate 45 and interestate 69 / U.S Highway 59, inside the Houston city limits in the Aldine area, and is adjacent to Humble. It is frequently referred to as Houston Airport.

 

With more than 30 destinations in Mexico, Bush Intercontinental offers service to more Mexican destinations than any other U.S. airport. Houston is also the headquarters of United Airlines, and Bush Intercontinental is United’s largest hub, with 800 daily departures.

Bush Intercontinental is Texas’ second largest air facility, after Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The airport has flights to parts of the United States, as well as to Canada, Central and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

 

Terminals

Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport has 5 terminals: A, B, C, D and E. All terminals at the airport are connected through the Skyway and the Subway.

 

Terminal A

It has gates from A1 to A30 located in two groups: A1-A15 and A17-A30. Handles all non-United domestic and Canada flights, international departures and some United Express flights. It has United Club Lounge.

 

Terminal B

The only airline that operates at the terminal is United. It serves all United Express flights except International arrivals. It has gates from B1 to B88 divided in different concourses. It has Nursery Service and a United Club Lounge.

Terminal C

It has gates numbered from C1 to C45 divided between South and North concourses. It serves as the United Airlines main base of domestic operations. It has two United Club Lounges, one in each North/South area.

 

Terminal D

It is the International Arrivals Building (IAB). It handles all non-United international flights except some international flights from United Express. It has 12 gates. It hosts various Lounges from different airlines classified as Lounges and Executive Lounges. During the next years it is planned to expand the terminal.

 

Terminal E

Is the newest Terminal and has gates from E1 to E24. It serves all United international flights and some domestic operations. It operates with United flights.

Transportation

The Skyway is an elevated train that connects all terminals for those passengers with connecting flights, without having to re-enter security. There is also an underground train (Subway) that connects all terminals and the hotel for all people, passengers and visitors.

 

Apart of these methods of transportation, from Houston airport passengers operate: buses, rental car agencies, hotel shuttles, limos, taxis, private transportation, TNC and Uber.

 

Services

Houston airport offers lots of different services and facilities to all passengers. Travellers can take a bite in one of its cafés or restaurants along the airport. Through the airport there are as well various ATMs, vending machines, defibrillators, charging stations, shops, nursery, shoe shine, various lounges, currency exchange, among others.
